Autodesk Combustion

Autodesk Combustion training videos,Autodesk Combustion tutorials,Autodesk Combustion software, about Autodesk Combustion,Discreet Combustion training

Combustion 2008 is the newest version of Autodesk's visual effects and compositing software tool.

Combustion is a computer program "for motion graphics, compositing and visual effects" (Discreet, n.d.). The software retails for US$995 (MacMinute, 2004). It is commonly likened to Adobe's After Effects, and shares a timeline based interface with Autodesk's (formerly Discreet) higher-end compositing systems Inferno, Flame and Flint. This is in contrast to the node based interface used by some other compositing applications.

Since the release of version 2, Combustion includes both node view and time line views.

It has since been replaced by Toxik, which is now called Composite.

Features

Fast, memory efficient, scanline-based image processing engine
NUKE's rendering engine only processes the part of the frame being viewed to give fast artist feedback and support for massive image sizes. Multi-threading is supported on all platforms taking full advantage of multiple processor systems and multi-core CPUs.

Resolution independent multi-channel pipeline
Read and output at any image size and manage up to 1023 user-definable 32-bit floating point colour channels. Cleanly manage multi-pass renders in a single compositing stream, separate out passes for individual manipulation and work natively with HDRI.

A comprehensive and tightly integrated 3D environment
Interactively construct and edit 3D scenes using the OpenGL accelerated 3D viewer. Set up cards, extended bicubic and bilinear meshes and standard geometric primitives or import pre-constructed meshes using OBJ and Autodesk FBX® support. Transform, texture, projection map, light and render with multi-sampled motion blur.

Multi-view and metadata aware framework
Manage multiple user-defined views and apply local or global processing changes at an individual node or parameter level - perfect for efficient stereoscopic, 2D to stereoscopic conversion and multi-camera post production. Directly access and modify arbitrary metadata, ingested and created in the processing stream.

Intuitive node graph based workspace
Rapidly construct and edit complex 2D and 3D composites, working and sharing scripts with a variety of node annotations, colour backdrops, groups and thumbnail images. Reference and pre-render external pre-composites for efficiency and artist collaboration.

See and adjust, anywhere
Concurrently open multiple 2D or 3D viewers and adjust parameters of any node process. Compare and flip book results with flexible import, export and display colour management. Integrated Iridas FrameCycler™ Professional playback and video preview display via BlackMagic Decklink and AJA Kona output cards.

Define your own workflow and interactively build custom tools
Take advantage of NUKE’s simple but extensive user interface and node customisation capabilities. Use the inbuilt Python script editor, parameter expressions, linked clones and define Gizmo-macros to rapidly prototype and deliver complex procedural effects – accessible later at the touch of a button.

Automate and batch process
Interact with NUKE outside the graphical user interface from a straightforward command line interface or using flexible script control. Draw on extensive third-party render queuing application support.

Open a complete visual effects toolbox
Powerful animation curve editor for visualising, drawing and editing parameter value curves and mathematical expressions.
Concatenated 2D and 3D transformations with high quality filtering options, 2D tracking and image stabilisation.
NUKE’s own IBK™ advanced Image Based Keyer.
Integrated Foundry Keylight, Primatte™ and Ultimatte™ keyers.
Key spill suppression tools.
Multiple colour correction approaches, histogram, curves, look up tables and configurable colourspace conversions.
Extensive set of image processing tools including noise, Gaussian and vector blur, defocus, dilate/erode, grid and spline warping, a variety of image composition and merge methods and a vector-based, anti-aliased text generator.
Rotoscope and vector paint toolset Bezier and spline shapes with variable point feather and individual motion blur. Paint with multiple brushes including dodge, burn, reveal, blur, sharpen, smear and recursive clone with full source transformation and onion skin. Intermix shapes and paint strokes with a layer hierarchy and blending modes. Animation curve editor and scripting integration.

Pinnacle Commotion Pro

Pinnacle Commotion Pro,Pinnacle Commotion software,Pinnacle Commotion vfx software,Pinnacle Commotion graphics,Pinnacle Commotion effects,Pinnacle Commotion training videos,Pinnacle Commotion Pro in compositing

Commotion is a visual effects application, originally released by Puffin Designs. Puffin Designs was founded by Scott Squires (an award-winning Visual Effects Supervisor at Industrial Light and Magic) and Forest Key to market Commotion.
Commotion set a very high standard for a rotoscoping application, introducing rotosplines and offering features like motion tracking[disambiguation needed] and motion blurring for masks. it was the first desktop application to allow real-time playback of full quality video clips from RAM.
Puffin Designs was later acquired by Pinnacle in 2000. After another release, Pinnacle let the program languish. Pinnacle has since been acquired by Avid, who shows no signs of reviving the product.
The last release was version 4.1.
Apple Computer briefly bundled a limited version of the program with Final Cut Pro.
